Warning signs
- You're asked to pay for training, equipment, a background check, or to "secure" the job.
- You're asked for banking details, your SIN, or copies of ID before any real interview.
- The offer arrives without an interview, or the pay is far above what the role usually earns.
- The recruiter only communicates through messaging apps or a personal email address.
- You're asked to deposit a cheque and send part of the money back.
Bilingo and legitimate employers will never ask you to pay to apply or to get a job.
