Salary range (but not limited to):

138,500 - 169,300

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

15%

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

We’re looking for a Manager to join our Specialty Lines Corporate Underwriting team!

What you’ll do here:

• Drive and support underwriting excellence within assigned Specialty Lines verticals through collaborative referrals, development of underwriting guidelines, product governance and development, and review of large losses for continued learning and development.
• Support and strengthen portfolio governance and review through established frameworks, audits, and authority statements
• Manage employee performance and contribute to the salary review process.
• Hold regular team meetings with staff to communicate corporate and branch updates and initiatives
• Support and manage key projects and Specialty Lines priorities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure successful execution of joint initiatives and projects

What you bring to the table:

• Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience
• University and/or College Degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience
• Have previous experience in Specialty Lines
• Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
• Previous supervisory experience an asset
• Sound knowledge of Commercial & Specialty lines insurance written, risk-managed property exposures considered a strong asset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
• Can work in a constantly changing environment
• Strong customer service orientation
• For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country.
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
