System Analyst - Banking Platform

CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Team Leader - Enterprise Systems, the incumbent is responsible for production support, administration, testing, and documentation of various aspects of the core banking system to meet business requirements. The core banking system analyst acts as the internal liaison between the organization and the core system vendor, ensuring that core functionality is maximized and that the relationship with third-party vendors is fully leveraged.

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

  • Analyze and validate all reported issues and improvement requests submitted by users.
  • Follow prescribed change control procedures, ensuring that all changes are properly documented, approved, and communicated, from initiation to design, testing, and implementation.
  • Work with internal partners and third-party vendors to resolve all issues, including review sessions, coordinating deployments in various environments, supporting user testing, and liaising with the vendor.
  • Support application deployment and upgrade projects by working with internal teams and vendors.
  • Prioritize tasks and provide progress updates. This may involve working outside of normal business hours.
  • Ensure that all automated and manual work is performed in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the development of application documentation, as well as user documentation and training materials.
  • Support and participate in annual disaster recovery testing exercises, year-end processes, and periodic review of user privileges, system resource configuration, system default configuration, and other general data issues, and take necessary action, which may involve working outside of business hours.
  • Ensure that all required documentation, including proof of testing and approval of the issue and/or improvement being resolved or implemented, is readily available for internal and/or external audit review.
  • Organize requirements gathering sessions with business units to clarify required behavior, as well as risks and impacts to the organization.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or appropriate discipline and must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in enterprise technology support.

Experience in the financial services industry, familiarity with term deposit and mortgage operations considered an asset. Any equivalency in education and experience will be considered.

Proficiency in both official languages.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience in central banking platform management
  • Knowledge of JIRA Service Management considered an asset
  • Understanding of cloud concepts
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies

  • Initiative and autonomy, ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
