Why this role is important?

Why is this role important:

Central Pharmacy Services (CPS) is looking for a Project Manager to join our Business Transformation team.

Our team manages a portfolio of projects that introduce new capabilities into CPS operations. These projects can range from technology and automation implementations to process changes, equipment, facility changes, and new ways of working.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading assigned projects from planning through implementation. You will work closely with teams across Operations, Pharmacy, Automation, Operational Excellence, Finance, and other areas of the business to develop plans, coordinate work, manage risks and dependencies, and keep projects moving toward their objectives.

We're looking for someone comfortable taking ownership of complex projects, working through ambiguity, and bringing structure and clarity to cross-functional teams

What you'll do:

  • Lead and manage technical and complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Develop business requirements, business plans, project plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitor progress to ensure project goals are met.
  • Coordinate activities across business and functional teams and ensure owners understand their commitments and timelines.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where appropriate.
  • Facilitate project meetings and working sessions.
  • Manage variances in timing, resources/budget, and project quality
  • Work with stakeholders to resolve issues and make timely decisions.
  • Lead gathering and validating business and operational requirements.
  • Use data and analysis to support project planning, problem-solving, decision-making, and measurement of project outcomes.
  • Coordinate implementation readiness, including testing, training, communications, procedures, go-live, and operational readiness activities as required.
  • Delivery concise update on status of projects, including timelines, budget risks, decisions, and upcoming milestones.
  • Work with external vendors and implementation partners where applicable.
  • Support projects through launch and stabilization before transitioning them into ongoing operations.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of project management tools and practices across CPS.
  • Build project management capabilities within the organization by providing coaching and guidance to colleagues at the Sites
  • Travel to sites as required.

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of experience managing and delivering complex organizational and operational projects, including cross-functional projects from planning through implementation
  • PMP certificationStrong understanding of the life cycle management of a product including processes and governance

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to independently organize, analyze, and interpret data to support project decisions
  • A practical, outcome-focused approach with the ability to balance attention to detail with broader project objectives
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Fluent in English, French an asset

Nice to Have

  • Lean manufacturing training
  • Experience in pharmacy, healthcare, manufacturing, fulfillment, distribution, or other high-volume operational environment
  • Experience delivering technology-enabled operational change, automation, equipment implementations, facility changes, or physical builds.
  • Experience working with operational data, analytics, or business intelligence tools such as Power BI.

What We're Looking For

Beyond project management experience, we're looking for someone who takes ownership and is comfortable working in an environment where not everything is defined upfront.

You should be able to understand what needs to happen, build a practical plan to get there, and work with the right people to move it forward. You'll need to identify problems early, ask good questions, follow through on commitments, and know when something needs to be escalated.

Just as importantly, you should be able to build strong working relationships. Many of our projects involve teams with different priorities and areas of expertise, so the ability to bring people together and create clarity is an important part of the role.

We value good project management discipline, but we don't believe in adding process for the sake of process. The goal is to provide the structure needed to help teams make decisions, manage risk, and deliver successfully.
