Manager, Business Initiatives

As a Manager, Business Initiatives, you will support the strategic priorities of Scotia Financial Planning by leading business initiatives, advisor enablement programs, and process improvement activities that enhance both the Financial Planner and client experience. You will collaborate with partners across Wealth Management and the Bank to drive operational excellence, support change initiatives, and ensure alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.

  • Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Leads business initiatives, process improvements, and system enhancements that support strategic priorities.
  • Tracks and reports on project progress while identifying and managing risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Oversees Continuing Education (CE) programs, accreditation activities, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Manages the Enterprise Complaint Management System (ECMS), including reporting, trend analysis, and process enhancements.
  • Coordinates training, onboarding, recognition, and governance activities that support business effectiveness and employee engagement.
  • Partners with stakeholders across Scotia Financial Planning and Wealth Management to identify opportunities and implement solutions that improve business performance and advisor experience.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Do You Have the Skills?

  • Strong project management, organization, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting business initiatives, change management, operations, compliance, or business enablement activities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • 3 to 5  years of experience in operations, compliance, business controls, project management, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • French language proficiency would be considered an asset.
  • Hybrid position with occasional in-person collaboration as required.
