Salary range (but not limited to):

94,200 - 115,200

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

We are seeking a Senior Compensation Consultant to join our National Human Resources team. In this role, you will act as a resource person, providing strategic advice and support on compensation, and will lead compensation-related projects.

 

We have 2 positions to fill within the team: one permanent position and one 12-month contract/secondment.

 

What you'll do here:

  • Provide advice on compensation (including compensation-related policies) and propose integrated solutions to complex issues, considering business needs, alignment with the organization's values, and best practices.
  • Detect value-generating opportunities and proactively identify practices requiring adjustment or improvement.
  • Establish and maintain a partnership relationship with supported groups and actively participate in team meetings and projects for their client group as a compensation expert.
  • Lead or participate in projects and initiatives of corporate or national scope, involving discussions and interactions with senior management.
  • Lead or participate in the review or development of tools, policies and programs, and ensure their deployment, including the creation of communication and training materials and change management.
  • Conduct total compensation impact analyses by working closely with members of the HR community, legal services or other business units.
  • Contribute to skills development within the team and the HR community.
  • Stay current on evolving market trends and compensation practices.
  • Lead training or information sessions.
  • Participate in the administration of the compensation team's regular operations (annual audits, compensation and employment conditions surveys, etc.).

 

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, actuarial science or relevant field
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in analysis and/or in a consulting role in compensation or in human resources
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (required)
  • Knowledge of Workday (asset)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking, business acumen and strong ability to influence
  • Pragmatism, ability to manage multiple files at once, and results orientation
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail
  • Strong complex problem-solving skills
  • Professionalism and a high level of discretion
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism (English/French) is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking clients and colleagues across the country
  • For candidates located in Ontario, bilingualism (English/French) is an asset considering the need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
