About the role
Reports directly to the Vice-President, Personal Lines, Transformation & Architecture.
Our Policy Administration System (PAS) is the transactional heart of Personal Lines at Intact. Every policy issued, changed, and renewed flows through it. At Intact, Canada’s largest provider of property and casualty insurance, that means millions of customers counting on it to be there in good and bad times.
Our PAS is built in-house - a substantial Java platform with an Angular front end, integrated with a broad landscape of insurance systems. We are modernizing this mission-critical platform, and we’re looking for a Principal to lead the technical strategy, architecture, and delivery of that transformation end to end. This is not a maintenance role. You will own the architecture, de-risk the migration off legacy, and shape how AI, data, and modern engineering practices come together in a system that thousands of colleagues and millions of customers depend on every day.
You will report directly to the Vice-President, Personal Lines, Transformation & Architecture, and join an organization of roughly 370 people. You’ll have the mandate, visibility, and decision authority to match the accountability - and you’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Personal Lines value streams, Intact Lab, and our Data & AI teams.
What you'll do here:
Architecture, strategy & delivery
AI across the policy lifecycle
AI in how we build
Trust, Data & Security
Leadership & community
Engineering excellence & continuous improvement
What you bring to the table:
Why Intact :
Are you a technical leader who wants to modernize a system millions of people rely on — with the mandate to do it right? We’d be thrilled to hear from you.
