Senior Corporate Actuarial Advisor, Property and Casualty Insurance

As a Senior Corporate Actuarial Advisor, you will play a key role in strategic decision-making, actuarial governance, and the evolution of our practices. You will gain a 360-degree view of corporate actuarial activities by contributing to reserves, capital management, the Financial Condition Testing (FCT), ORSA, reinsurance, financial projections, and profitability analyses.

Within iA Auto and Home, you will act as a senior expert and influential leader within an integrated team that also supports Prysm General Insurance. You will work closely with the Finance and Corporate Actuarial Vice-Presidency to help guide decisions and advance our ways of working.

What You Will Accomplish with Us

As a Senior Corporate Actuarial Advisor, you will be at the heart of our mission. Key responsibilities include:

Key Corporate Actuarial Functions

• Contribute to core corporate actuarial functions, including reserve valuation, the Appointed Actuary’s Report, financial projections, financial statements, FCT, ORSA, capital analyses, reinsurance, and product profitability assessments.
• Produce analyses and recommendations that support business decision-making and strengthen the organization’s financial position.
• Ensure the rigor and compliance of actuarial practices in accordance with recognized standards and industry best practices.

Leadership and Coordination of Actuarial Activities

• Provide direction and coordinate selected actuarial work, including the preparation of deliverables for governance bodies.
• Serve as a resource person for the team by helping resolve complex issues, sharing knowledge, and supporting expertise development.
• Build alignment among stakeholders regarding recommendations, priorities, and proposed changes.

Driving the Evolution of Our Practices

• Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, tools, and ways of working.
• Contribute to the evolution of performance indicators, process mapping, and actuarial reporting practices.

Strategic Support to the Finance and Corporate Actuarial Vice-Presidency

• Collaborate with the Finance and Corporate Actuarial Vice-Presidency, business units, and internal partners to align actuarial priorities with organizational objectives.
• Provide the analyses, reports, and recommendations required to support strategic decision-making and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.

What Could Help Accelerate Your Success in This Role

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and an FCAS/FICA designation.
• Has a minimum of 8 years of experience in property and casualty insurance.
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of actuarial standards, methodologies, and best practices within the property and casualty insurance industry.
• Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and contribute to complex initiatives.
• Has a strong ability to assess the impact of corporate strategies on actuarial processes and operations.
• Stands out through rigor, professional judgment, a collaborative mindset, and excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrates influential leadership, fosters stakeholder engagement, and effectively supports change initiatives.
• Is proficient with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SAS or another statistical programming language, as well as Power BI, is considered an asset.
• Has advanced proficiency in French and an intermediate level of English, as the incumbent will be required to communicate and occasionally deliver presentations to unilingual English-speaking partners.
