As a Product Owner, you will play a key role in the development of new solutions and processes, as well as in integrating business units into corporate financial processes and systems.

What you’ll accomplish with us

As a Product Owner, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:

  • Understand, articulate, and communicate the business value of the product or scope under your responsibility;
  • Develop, communicate, and evolve the product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with Finance objectives, the value stream, and business unit priorities;
  • Apply critical thinking to existing or proposed processes and their integration with financial systems;
  • Translate the product vision into business objectives to deliver initiatives within budget and timelines, and present progress through the appropriate ceremonies and governance forums;
  • Manage the team’s product backlog on an ongoing basis, including content, prioritization, clarity, consistency, and visibility, while balancing business needs, defect resolution, regulatory requirements, security considerations, technical debt, and operationalization activities;
  • Translate the product vision into epics, features, and user stories with support from analysts, architects, subject matter experts, and IT teams;
  • Proactively identify, assess, and collaboratively resolve risks and issues related to the roadmap of the products and assets under your responsibility;
  • Analyze issues and the impacts of scope changes on users, and recommend appropriate solutions;
  • Work closely with analysts, architects, and IT teams to design and deliver solutions;
  • Collaborate with architects and analysts to define delivery and testing strategies;
  • Act as a leader and trusted advisor within your area of expertise for the project team;
  • Balance Agile ways of working with budget, governance, and reporting requirements.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is recognized for their autonomy, rigor, political acumen, and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment;
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and synthesis skills, as well as sound judgment;
  • Shows curiosity and a strong interest in working across a diverse portfolio of initiatives;
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Has a minimum of 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a Product Owner role or a similar transformation and delivery position;
  • Has project experience within banking, financial services, accounting, or the insurance industry, which will be considered an asset;
  • Holds a CPA designation, which will be considered an asset;
  • Has an advanced level of French proficiency, as the role requires daily communication with colleagues, managers, and internal partners;
  • Has an intermediate level of English proficiency, as the role involves communicating and collaborating on projects with colleagues and partners located across Canada and the United States on a regular basis.
