Ready to create experiences that make an impact? Join us as a Senior Specialist, National Events, and help bring our most important events to life.

What will your typical day look like?

The Senior Specialist, National Events, is responsible for leading the planning and execution of large-scale and high-profile events within the Ontario portfolio and across national initiatives. This role oversees the end-to-end event lifecycle — strategy, design, logistics, and execution — for in-person, virtual, and hybrid conferences, meetings, and special events.

As a senior member of the team, the Senior Specialist will often take the lead on programs where multiple specialists are involved, providing coordination, guidance, and oversight to ensure a cohesive and high-quality delivery. While this role does not include direct people management, it does require strong leadership, collaboration, and the ability to influence and support peers in achieving shared goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to market leaders, offering expert guidance on event strategy, design, and execution to meet business objectives.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of complex, high-impact programs, coordinating the work of other specialists and team members to ensure alignment and excellence throughout all stages of delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, providing clear communication, proactive updates, and expert recommendations.
  • Oversee all logistical and production elements, including venue sourcing, vendor contracting, registration management, food and beverage planning, audio-visual production, and on-site management.
  • Design and manage attendee experiences, incorporating creative and experiential elements such as décor, entertainment, and cultural or thematic components.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery in collaboration with Finance, Procurement, and Risk teams.
  • Provide on-site leadership during events, guiding team members, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and alignment with program objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients, providing consultative support and staying current on best practices and emerging industry trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Communications, People & Culture, etc.) to integrate event strategy within broader firm priorities.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of event processes, tools, and templates, leveraging experience and feedback to enhance team efficiency and overall impact.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, resourcefulness, and strong problem-solving skills in managing competing priorities and addressing challenges under pressure.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Enjoy taking ownership of complex programs and bringing multiple workstreams together into a seamless event experience.
  • Are a strong collaborator who leads with influence and fosters teamwork and trust.
  • Have a strategic mindset and an eye for both the big picture and the finer details.
  • Excel at building relationships, managing expectations, and navigating ambiguity with confidence and composure.
