What you'll be doing

As a Consultant, Digital Operations & Privacy on our Digital Platforms & Operations team, you'll play a key role in helping ensure our digital experiences meet high standards for privacy, consent, and regulatory compliance. You'll support the ongoing governance of digital privacy and consent practices across our digital properties, including the management of trackable technologies such as cookies, pixels, software development kits, and related tools. You'll work closely with partners across Privacy, Legal, Risk, and enterprise teams to help translate regulatory requirements into practical digital processes and controls. You'll also contribute to the evolution of a privacy-by-default culture by supporting day-to-day governance, monitoring activities, investigations, and business-as-usual onboarding processes. In addition, you'll maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal partners, stay current on changing legislation and industry trends, and identify opportunities to improve how we manage digital privacy and client consent across the bank.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Privacy governance - Support the ongoing management of digital privacy and consent requirements across digital properties, helping ensure practices align with applicable federal and provincial legislation and internal standards.
  • Cross-functional partnership - Collaborate with Privacy, Legal, Risk, enterprise programs, and digital teams to translate regulatory and industry requirements into clear actions, controls, and business processes.
  • Privacy by design - Contribute to the design, implementation, and promotion of privacy-by-default practices across digital journeys, platforms, and day-to-day operating processes.
  • Monitoring and controls - Build and maintain monitoring processes for consent management platforms and related digital assets, including controls to support the onboarding of new assets through business-as-usual processes.
  • Audit and issue support - Represent the digital team in compliance reviews, audits, investigations, and gating processes, providing thoughtful input and helping address identified risks or gaps.
  • Continuous improvement - Identify opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and governance practices, while anticipating regulatory change and helping the organization prepare proactive action plans.
