What you'll be doing
CIBC Global Asset Management’s Chief Operating Office supports the business through strong oversight, proactive risk management, and a well-controlled operating environment. As an Associate, Oversight, you’ll work closely with the Senior Associate, Oversight and business partners across Global Asset Management to support key oversight activities and help strengthen governance practices. You’ll assist with Change Initiative Risk Assessments (CIRA), Business Managed Technology requirements, Bloomberg access and index data permissions, and trade error reviews to help identify themes, monitor remediation actions, and reduce the risk of recurrence. You’ll also help assess risk exposures and control gaps, support updates to operational procedures in response to policy changes and identified deficiencies, and contribute to training and remediation activities that strengthen control awareness across the business. In addition, you’ll support teams in preparing for internal audits, regulatory examinations, and control testing, while applying your knowledge of financial markets, asset classes, and applicable regulatory requirements to day-to-day oversight activities. In this role, you’ll build strong relationships across Global Asset Management and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance processes, streamline ways of working, and reduce operational risk.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you'll be on-site full-time.
