Role

 

As the Director, Digital Delivery Portfolio, you will help shape the future of digital media in Canada. Reporting to the Senior Director, Operations and Digital Delivery Portfolio, you will foster dynamic collaboration across Digital Products & Innovation (DP&I) teams at both CBC and Radio-Canada.

 

In this role, you will oversee our portfolio of digital programs and initiatives, ensuring they are perfectly aligned with our strategic ambitions. Acting as an architect of change, you will explore opportunities presented by artificial intelligence (AI) while leveraging agile and project management methodologies to maximize value and impact. Your continuous improvement expertise will be vital to optimizing budget management, driving performance, boosting efficiency and maintaining high service quality.

 

You will lead a team of passionate professionals, including executives, project leads and business analysts, inspiring them toward excellence. Your sharp analytical skills and strategic judgment will empower you to navigate complex challenges, formulate impactful recommendations and make decisions that will shape the future of our component and the organization as a whole.

 

You will also ensure that leadership teams and all key stakeholders receive relevant updates on project progress.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a scalable project and program management and governance structure aligned with our product lines and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by developing and refining operational processes.
  • Manage a strategic portfolio of project and program management services for DP&I, from initial analysis through to execution and delivery.
  • Produce regular reporting, including performance indicators and metrics, executive summaries and ad hoc analysis.
  • Work closely with the Finance and Operations team.
  • Provide close oversight of initiative and program budgets and costs, as well as resource allocation.
  • Proactively evaluate shifting functional needs, capacity constraints, risk management and interdependencies.
  • Lead and develop our project leads, program managers and business analysts across the organization.
  • Serve as a change management agent to facilitate adoption within a rapidly evolving media landscape.
  • Communicate the status of the project and program portfolio to stakeholders across all business units.
  • Deliver on business objectives while maintaining exceptional service quality.

 

This role is based in Toronto.

 

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Proven track record of leading similar digital delivery operations in a large organization.
  • Master’s degree in project management.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in project/product management, including direct people management and team leadership.
  • Project management and agile certification desirable.
  • Agile experience an asset.
  • Experience integrating AI tools.
  • Experience coaching teams using Lean and/or Kanban methodologies an asset.
  • At least 10 years’ experience working in Agile environments with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Significant breadth of knowledge and understanding in key areas of digital project development, such as architecture, strategy and creation, application development and operations support.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to balance competing priorities, respond to urgent requests and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to make sound strategic decisions and drive high-level planning.
  • Proven communicator, leader and team builder.
  • Strong engagement and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English and French (spoken and written).
  • In-depth knowledge of the media industry, with an emphasis on digital platforms.
  • Availability for occasional travel across Canada.
