Job Description

The Officer, Development (Fulfill) will be accountable to provide project support to Fulfill, and to other Core Process initiatives, while acquiring the technical and/or management/professional competencies required for taking on greater responsibilities in future roles within Fulfill or other process streams. Using their expertise, the Officer will participate in the comprehensive analysis and technical and management support of a number of corporate projects and will help design creative business and technical solutions to process issues within Fulfill and other process streams. 

Job Responsibilities

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Officer, Development Fulfill: 

  • Provides technical, business and problem analysis to support several short-term and long-term Fulfill optimization projects, for which he/she will create and help implement solutions for process improvement: 
    • Within Fulfill, supports the development and implementation of process improvement solutions in areas such as: reading and coding technology, process control (operational systems-level), modeling/network simulation, material handling, ergonomics/industrial design, logistics/planning, delivery, and delivery network/planning; 
    • Across other Core Processes, including Market, Sell and Serve; and   
    • Across Operating Enablers such as Finance and Human Resources. 
  • Builds over the longer term, their corporate knowledge and competencies within Fulfill and the other process streams, while gaining experience in his or her discipline, as well as general business practices. 
  • Identifies potential short and long term solutions for Fulfill process issues, and works with project managers to implement those solutions. 
  • Works in collaboration with process managers and process owners to understand, develop, and support innovative process solutions. 
  • Ensures continued self-development, by enhancing knowledge of relevant technical and professional trends and issues that impact our core business.   

Job Responsibilities (continued)

  • Learns and applies the principles of Business Excellence and Process Management and champions these disciplines in dealings with business partners and process owners. 
  • Learns and applies basic business skills such as problem solving, effective meetings, and communication, as well as the other key job competencies which have been identified.  
  • Participates in the development of business cases to obtain program resources to support process improvement. 
  • Guides or co-ordinates the work of others within the work unit, or the functional team.  
  • Successfully completes corporate learning programs designed to support continuous learning.   
  • Completes ongoing professional requirements to become/remain certified in his or her field of expertise. 

Qualifications

Education 

  • A University or college degree/diploma in a related field. 

Experience 

  • 1-3 years of related work experience is required. 

Other Candidate Requirements 

  • Enrollment in a specific designation and or certifications programs may be required for certain positions.

PSAC T1 - Development, Fulfill

Civil Engineering – T1 term position

Civil Engineering diploma or degree (or equivalent) from a Canadian institution preferred.

Knowledge 

  • Knowledge of concrete and pre-cast concrete design standards for Canada.
  • Knowledge of roadside design considerations and applicable municipal or provincial standards

Skills

  • Experience with generating reports, data analysis and quality management.
  • Proficient with CAD and engineering software.
  • Bilingualism in both English and French is an asset

Exposure to mechanical assemblies interfacing with concrete and similar structural design.
