Intake Coordinator Group Disability (Winnipeg, MB, CA)

As an Intake Coordinator, you will help plan members and plan sponsors when a disability claim is first submitted. You will collect and confirm information, explain next steps, check whether the claim is eligible, and manage straightforward claims by following established guidelines.

What you will do

• Contact plan members and plan sponsors promptly when claim information is missing or unclear
• Explain what information is required, answer questions about the claim process and help with form completion when needed
• Follow up by phone, email or letter and keep plan members and sponsors informed about outstanding information and claim status
• Review claim documents, system information and contract provisions to confirm admissibility and eligibility for coverage
• Set up claims accurately in line with the contract and any group-specific requirements
• Organize daily work to meet service standards and deadlines while adapting to changing claim and call volumes

What you will bring

• Bilingualism (fluent in French and English) required, as the position will regularly serve our clients with English and French-speaking need
• Minimum of one year within a customer service environment
• Ability to understand complex instructions and basic contract language
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong typing and data entry skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• Strong organization, prioritization and attention to detail
• Working experience within disability insurance is an asset
• Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada  website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life

This position will be located in the Winnipeg head office and follows a hybrid work model, with an in-office presence required two days per week.

The base salary for this position is between $39,100 - $52,800 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
