Global 5500/6500 Aircraft Integration Intern

About the Role

The Global 5500/6500 aircraft integration team leads all engineering activities on the platform. We work with project engineering and across various technical engineering specialists. We are responsible for leading the Global 5500/6500 engineering organization through all product changes, from the start of the development, through test, and up to entry into service, and provide in-service support.

We are seeking a highly motivated Aircraft Integration Intern to support the Global 5500/6500 program.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Aircraft Integration Intern, you’ll work closely with the rest of the aircraft integration team, projects team, and specialists in various engineering disciplines to support planning and execution for the Global 5500/6500 program. You’ll gain hands-on experience, develop key skills, and have a real impact on one of our most exciting programs.

What are your contributions to the team?

  • Support aircraft-level reviews of project plans & solutions
  • Support preparation of aircraft-level requirements, and plan associated validation and verification activities
  • Support review and maintenance of specifications and interface definitions
  • Participate in, and prepare documentation for, technical design reviews
  • Conduct specific ad-hoc investigations into emerging topics
  • Document & track action items and decisions
  • Document & risk tracking and develop and execute on risk mitigation plans
  • Prepare documentation materials to support cross-functional alignment on complex projects
  • Prepare project status materials and present to engineering leadership

During your internship, you will learn:

  • Aircraft product development, Aircraft Systems, Project planning, conducting meetings, and prioritizing tasks
  • Written and spoken communications skills in a professional environment (including presentations)

How to thrive in this role?

  • You're working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, or something similar (Required)
  • You’re proficient at using Microsoft Office, especially:
    • Excel, PowerPoint, Word
    • Outlook, Teams
  • You have strong communication skills - you can clearly explain your ideas—written or spoken
  • You have strong self-motivation skills and have a drive to solve problems, even in ambiguous situations
  • You’re a team player, and enjoy collaborating to solve problems
  • You’re flexible and can handle changing priorities
  • You’re creative and care about the quality of your work
  • You’ve worked in aerospace, engineering, projects, or manufacturing (nice to have)
  • You speak English fluently; French is a bonus
  • Min 8 months internship and be willing to work from the Mississauga office 2 times per week.

It is important to note that our internship opportunities are open to students only, not new graduates. All our interns may be required to occasionally travel outside of Canada for training/work purpose.
