POSITION OVERVIEW

Are you passionate about business development and building lasting relationships with entrepreneurs? Join BDC, the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs, and make a direct contribution to the success of Canadian businesses.

In this role, you will develop new business opportunities in Montreal’s West Island while managing an existing client portfolio. You will support businesses with annual revenues ranging from $3 million to $50 million by providing financing solutions and advisory services tailored to their needs.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

• Meet with entrepreneurs, clients, and prospects to understand their businesses, identify their challenges, provide advice, and determine the BDC financing solutions and advisory services best suited to their needs.
• Execute an action plan aligned with Business Centre objectives to support the growth and retention of existing clients.
• Proactively develop new business relationships and build a pipeline of opportunities with prospective clients.
• Analyze, negotiate, and present financing proposals while exercising sound credit judgment.
• Maintain an active presence in Montreal’s West Island business community, including through business associations and chambers of commerce.
• Build and maintain a strong network of contacts and partners to generate referrals and new business opportunities.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration.
• More than 3 years of relevant experience in commercial credit or in analysis and business development.
• Demonstrated business development experience, with a proven track record of achieving objectives.
• Ability to provide sound advice and deliver excellent client service.
• Ability to build lasting, trusted relationships with clients, colleagues, business contacts, and external partners.
• Bilingualism required in French and English.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Good knowledge of the business community.
• An established business network in Montreal’s West Island.
• Excellent negotiation skills and a results-oriented approach.
• Passion for entrepreneurship.
