About the role
This is a high-impact opportunity to support a major technology transformation as enterprise workloads move from traditional on-premises infrastructure to modern cloud and hybrid platforms. In this role, you will help advance storage modernization, cloud migration readiness, data protection and automation while supporting secure, reliable and resilient services.

As the Bank reduces its on-premises storage footprint, this role will help keep current services stable while contributing to cloud enablement, migration planning, backup and recovery modernization, operational readiness and service evolution.

The ideal candidate brings strong storage fundamentals, curiosity and a practical approach to working across cloud, infrastructure, database, cybersecurity and application teams to deliver supportable, reliable solutions.

What you will do
This role offers hands-on exposure to enterprise cloud and hybrid storage patterns, migration planning, backup and recovery modernization, operational automation and service evolution. You will work with experienced colleagues across infrastructure, cloud, database, cybersecurity, application delivery and service management, giving you broad visibility into how enterprise technology services are changing.
You will also have opportunities to strengthen practical skills in cloud readiness, data protection, automation, documentation, and cross-team delivery. We do not expect candidates to have experience with every technology listed; we are looking for someone with strong storage fundamentals, curiosity, sound judgment and a willingness to build cloud and hybrid storage expertise in a changing environment.

You will also:

  • support reliable enterprise storage, backup and recovery services across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments.
  • contribute to cloud migration activities, including storage assessment, readiness, replication, validation, cutover support and stabilization.
  • implement and operate modern storage patterns, including Azure Files, NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP, object storage, snapshots, replication, immutability and lifecycle management.
  • strengthen backup, restore, disaster recovery and data resilience practices through recovery testing, evidence capture and operational documentation.
  • automate repeatable storage and backup tasks using scripts, templates, runbooks or infrastructure-as-code approaches.
  • work with stakeholders to understand workload needs, service dependencies, performance requirements, data protection needs and migration risks.
  • investigate and resolve complex storage, backup, recovery, capacity, performance and availability issues, escalating when needed.
  • maintain and improve procedures, knowledge articles, runbooks and knowledge transfer materials to reduce reliance on individual expertise.
  • support the transition from legacy storage and backup infrastructure by validating data movement, closing operational gaps and reducing residual risk.

What you need to succeed

You bring hands-on experience supporting enterprise storage, backup and recovery services, and you are motivated to grow your skills in cloud and hybrid storage platforms. You understand that this role requires both operational discipline and adaptability: keeping current services stable while helping the Bank move toward more automated, standardized, and cloud-enabled storage services.

You will bring:

  • hands-on experience supporting enterprise storage, backup and recovery services in production environments where reliability matters.
  • solid storage fundamentals, including SAN/NAS, file services, block storage, replication, snapshots, backup, restore, capacity management and performance troubleshooting.
  • exposure to cloud or hybrid storage platforms, or a strong interest in building experience with services such as Azure Files, NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP, Azure NetApp Files or object storage.
  • the ability to assess migration risks, validate data movement, support cutover activities, and help keep environments stable before and after migration.
  • experience with enterprise backup platforms such as Commvault, Veritas NetBackup or similar technologies.
  • experience with enterprise storage platforms such as NetApp, Hitachi, SAN/NAS technologies or comparable solutions, including legacy environments being supported through transition.
  • an understanding of data protection, ransomware resilience, immutability, retention, backup validation and disaster recovery practices.

You will also:

  • solve practical technical problems and find the right solution for the situation.
  • use scripting, automation, infrastructure as code, monitoring or operational reporting to make work more efficient.
  • communicate clearly and collaborate with storage, cloud, database, network, cybersecurity, application and service management teams.
  • improve services, standardize repeatable work, automate where it makes sense, and reduce operational risk.
  • support operational readiness through runbooks, change preparation, incident response and knowledge sharing.
  • apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a focus on reliable service delivery.

Your education and experience
Your combined education and work experience demonstrate that you have the competencies and skills for the position. We are ideally seeking candidates with relevant education in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related field, combined with experience supporting enterprise storage, backup, recovery, infrastructure or cloud services. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
If you meet most of these qualifications and are interested in building cloud and hybrid storage skills while contributing to a major technology transition, we encourage you to apply.

Innovative Mindset

We value candidates who demonstrate adaptability, curiosity, and a willingness to learn new technologies, including AI and digital tools. We seek individuals who can think critically about data, question existing processes, and find ways to simplify our work while embracing change and new ways of doing things.
