Product Owner - Marketing Technology

The Product Owner, Marketing Technology supports the delivery and continuous improvement of capabilities that enable customer data, identity, consent and activation across Air Canada digital and in-flight channels. Working within the MarTech product team, the role translates business needs into clear product requirements, maintains delivery priorities and coordinates with engineering, data, privacy, marketing and vendor partners to deliver practical, compliant solutions.

The role contributes to initiatives across the Adobe marketing technology ecosystem, including data collection, customer profiles and audiences, campaign and journey activation, and related platform integrations. The Product Owner operates within established product strategy, architecture and governance direction, escalating material design, risk and scope decisions as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute against the MarTech product strategy, roadmap and agreed business objectives under the direction of Product and Technology leadership.
  • Gather, clarify and document business needs as product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog in collaboration with business stakeholders, engineering leads and delivery partners.
  • Coordinate product discovery, solution definition, development, testing, release readiness and post-launch follow-up for assigned capabilities.
  • Work with engineering, data and solution architecture teams to validate how customer data, identity, consent and flight or booking context move across connected platforms and activation channels.
  • Support the definition and documentation of data mappings, interfaces, identifiers, business rules, latency expectations and operational dependencies within approved architectural patterns.
  • Partner with Privacy, Security and Data Governance teams to ensure requirements reflect consent, data minimization, access and retention expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve delivery issues, clarify ownership and track dependencies, risks and decisions.
  • Coordinate business validation and user acceptance testing; confirm that delivered functionality meets agreed requirements and quality expectations.
  • Monitor product usage, operational performance, stakeholder feedback and delivery outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare clear status updates, release communications, decision records and product documentation for stakeholders and support teams.
  • Stay informed on relevant MarTech capabilities and industry practices, and bring forward practical opportunities that align with the roadmap.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive and continuous-improvement culture across the product and delivery teams. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology, engineering, marketing, analytics or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in product ownership, product management, business analysis or delivery of digital or data-enabled products.
  • Experience translating business needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and prioritized delivery backlogs.
  • Working knowledge of modern product management and Agile delivery principles, methods and tools.
  • Ability to understand and document data flows, system interactions, integration dependencies and customer-facing business rules.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across business, technical and vendor teams.
  • Strong organization, planning, problem-solving and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused, pragmatic and dependable, with sound judgement and a commitment to privacy and quality.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.

Assets

  • Experience with Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Campaign Classic, Adobe Target or comparable marketing technology platforms.
  • Experience with customer data platforms, profiles, audiences, identity namespaces, segmentation or destinations.
  • Experience with tag management, digital data layers, event taxonomies or client-side instrumentation.
  • Experience with consent management platforms and privacy-aware marketing activation.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses and marketing audience modelling.
  • Experience in travel, hospitality, loyalty, e-commerce or another data-rich customer environment.
  • Bilingualism in English and French.

Conditions of Employment:
