Product Manager - Martech - Marketing Activation

Being part of Air Canada is to become part of an iconic Canadian symbol, recently ranked the best Airline in North America. Let your career take flight by joining our diverse and vibrant team at the leading edge of passenger aviation.

We are hiring a Product Manager, Marketing Technology for Marketing Activation on Air Canada's Marketing Technology team. You will help define and deliver on the platform strategy for Adobe Campaign Classic and Adobe Journey Optimizer within our Martech organization: roadmap, prioritization, platform standards, and hands-on configuration of the activation layer (workflows, journeys, integrations, and templates).

You build the platform capabilities Marketing Operations uses to run email and triggered journeys. You are a product and platform lead for activation: accountable for product direction and hands-on platform work, not for running day-to-day campaigns.

Marketing Technology owns the platforms. Marketing Operations executes campaigns using those platforms. You make activation reliable, compliant, and adoptable.

Responsibilities:

Product strategy and leadership

  • Define and maintain the product vision and roadmap for Campaign Classic and Journey Optimizer.
  • Help set standards for batch email (Campaign) vs. real-time and triggered communications (AJO).
  • Own adoption KPIs: time-to-launch, workflow reuse, deliverability health, journey throughput, MOps self-serve maturity.
  • Build business cases and present to the marketing and technology leadership.
  • Manage the Adobe relationship for Campaign and Journey Optimizer.
  • Represent activation in steering forums with Marketing, Data, IT, Privacy, and executives.

Adobe Campaign Classic (strategy + execution)

  • Own product direction and hands-on operation of our primary email platform.
  • Lead migrations: assessment, plan, build, test, cutover, hypercare, and steady state.
  • Design and maintain workflow templates, targeting standards, typologies, and Message Center patterns.
  • Build, troubleshoot, and optimize workflows, deliveries, SQL targeting, and personalization rules.
  • Partner on deliverability: warm-up, bounce/suppression handling, operational SLAs with Marketing Operations.

Adobe Journey Optimizer (strategy + execution)

  • Own AJO product direction and hands-on delivery of journeys, triggers, and message designs.
  • Configure journeys, events, offer decisioning, and real-time use cases (e.g. Corporate Direct, lifecycle triggers).
  • Enable Marketing Operations through training, runbooks, and operating procedures.
  • Partner on AJO Offers and offer flows with Marketing Experience Platform teams where required.

Cross-platform activation

  • Ensure audiences and consent/suppression from the customer data platform are enforced before sending in both tools.
  • Architect and verify activation dataflows from CDP to Campaign and AJO; define data contracts and latency expectations with IT and vendors.
  • Document platform configuration, dependencies, and runbooks to reduce key-person risk.
  • Champion change management so Marketing Operations adopts standards and reusable patterns.

Qualifications

What you will bring:

We value strategy and hands-on platform skills in the same person.

Required

  • 5+ years in marketing technology, product management, or technical product ownership.
  • 4+ years hands-on Adobe Campaign Classic in production: workflows, deliveries, templates, targeting, troubleshooting.
  • 2+ years hands-on Adobe Journey Optimizer or comparable enterprise journey orchestration (e.g. Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Journeys, Responsys).
  • Ability to own roadmap and execute in both platforms (not delegate all build work).
  • Strong SQL; comfort debugging audience counts and sync issues between CDP and activation tools.
  • Collaborate to align Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) XDM schemas with Adobe Campaign Classic relational data models to ensure seamless profile merging.
  • Scripting in Campaign workflows (JavaScript or equivalent) and journey configuration experience.
  • Email deliverability fundamentals and CASL-aware marketing operations.
  • Experience leading a major platform migration or upgrade (Campaign v7 to v8 strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Agile delivery; clear technical documentation.
  • Influential communicator in matrixed organizations.
  • Bilingual (English and French) preferred at equal qualifications.
  • Preference for travel, hospitality, or loyalty programs.

Nice to have

  • Adobe Experience Platform audience activation into Campaign and AJO.
  • Message Center and high-volume enterprise email.
  • AJO Offers and offer decisioning APIs.
  • Adobe Campaign and/or Journey Optimizer certifications.
  • Familiarity with tag management or web activation only as it affects email/journey triggers.
