Inflight Product Advisor

The Inflight Product Advisor owns the commercial management and lifecycle of assigned onboard product categories to improve the customer experience. The role is accountable for supplier management, financial oversight, product implementation, governance, and continuous improvement while partnering across external suppliers and internal stakeholders in Inflight Service, Catering Operations, Strategic Procurement, and Finance.

The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who takes ownership of their portfolio, exercises sound judgment, and is comfortable independently managing multiple parallel projects while collaborating across a broad network of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Commercial Portfolio Management
Lead the day-to-day commercial management of assigned product categories, acting as a point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Manage the commercial lifecycle of assigned onboard product categories.
  • Build strong working relationships with suppliers, ensuring performance against quality, service, innovation and cost expectations.
  • Coordinate product introductions, changes and discontinuations across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively identify opportunities for product improvements or cost optimization.
  • Review and analyze customer, crew, operational and supplier feedback to identify trends and product performance issues and translate findings into product improvements.
  • Identify innovative products to continuously enhance the onboard customer experience.
  • Support sourcing activities by evaluating new products, reviewing samples and participating in RFPs.
  • Conduct risk assessment when required.

Product Development and Implementation
Manage implementation and lifecycle of assigned onboard product categories while supporting broader product development.

  • Lead the execution of assigned product initiatives from concept through implementation.
  • Champion collaboration with Inflight Service and Catering Operations to evaluate new products and enhancements.
  • Coordinate operational readiness through product testing, tasting, and trials.
  • Oversee product specifications to ensure they accurately reflect approved designs.
  • Support product launches across the network.

Product Information & Governance
Maintain accurate product specifications and master data.

  • Ensure timely communication of product changes to all stakeholders.
  • Maintain centralized product documentation.
  • Improve information management processes through automation and standardization.
  • Ensure version control across all deployed products.

Financial Management
Own the financial administration of assigned product categories, ensuring pricing accuracy, budget integrity and supplier compliance.

  • Maintain supplier and catering partner price lists, ensuring pricing accuracy and timely updates following product or menu changes.
  • Apply contractual pricing adjustments, including annual CPI increases, in accordance with supplier agreements.
  • Review, validate and process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual terms, budget assumptions and corporate policies.
  • Partner with Finance and Strategic Procurement to investigate and resolve pricing, billing and invoice discrepancies.
  • Monitor spend against assigned product categories, identifying cost trends, anomalies and opportunities for optimization.
  • Support cost modelling, product benchmarking and the development of business cases for new product initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality or another related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in product management, supplier management, commercial operations, procurement, project management or a related field.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance customer experience, operational feasibility, supplier capabilities, and financial objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to deliver high-quality work with accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and translate insights into practical recommendations.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and delivering results.
  • Demonstrated initiative and accountability with the ability to take ownership of assigned product categories and drive work forward with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting tools, process automation, macros or workflow improvement initiatives is considered an asset.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, Finance or external suppliers is considered an asset.
  • Experience within the airline, hospitality, retail, consumer products or travel industry is considered an asset.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
