The Director, Infrastructure & Cloud Services leads Air Canada’s enterprise cloud, infrastructure and DevOps capabilities. The role is accountable for secure, reliable and cost-effective platforms across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), while advancing Air Canada’s cloud-only strategy and aggressive Air Canada Data Centre Exit (AC/DC) program.

The Director leads the migration, modernization or retirement of workloads and foundational services, ensures that data centre exit produces verified decommissioning and risk reduction, and builds the operating capabilities required for a cloud-only enterprise. These include cloud and DevOps platform engineering, vulnerability remediation, resilience, recovery, observability, lifecycle management, FinOps and strategic vendor management.

Responsibilities:

• Define and execute Air Canada's enterprise Infrastructure, Cloud and DevOps strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, cybersecurity requirements and the company's cloud-only vision.  
• Lead the modernization and transformation of technology platforms, including the successful delivery of strategic initiatives that enhance agility, resilience, operational efficiency and scalability.  
• Ensure the secure, reliable and cost-effective operation of cloud, infrastructure and platform services that support critical airline operations and customer-facing systems.  
• Provide leadership for enterprise technology resilience, risk management and service continuity through effective governance, operational oversight and continuous improvement practices.  
• Oversee financial management, investment planning and vendor partnerships to maximize business value while maintaining operational excellence and strong cost discipline.  
• Build, develop and lead high-performing teams across infrastructure, cloud, DevOps and platform engineering functions, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and innovation.  
• Partner with senior business and technology leaders to establish priorities, resolve complex challenges and enable the successful execution of Air Canada's technology strategy.  
• Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices, automation and service excellence to improve delivery speed, operational performance and customer outcomes.  
• Establish and maintain governance frameworks, performance metrics and accountability mechanisms that support secure, compliant and sustainable technology operations.  
• Act as a key technology leader and advisor, influencing enterprise decisions and ensuring technology capabilities effectively support Air Canada's long-term strategic goals. 

Qualifications

• A relevant University degree/technical certification (and/or relevant experience)  
• 8-10 years experience in public cloud adoption and operationalization.  Datacenter and IT Infrastructure knowledge would also be considered key assets.
• A self starter with critical thinking, analytical approach, business acumen and decision making
• Bring a sense of urgency, customer advocacy and a drive for results  
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• A team player and proven leader with excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative attitude
• Leadership of diverse teams of technology experts and vendor partners.  Having worked with out-sourcing or vendor partners is critical
• Familiarity with the airline industry is an asset, and transportation/logistics background is also an asset.
