Business Systems Analyst

The Opportunity

Accounting technical and workflow knowledge used to conduct complex, thorough and technical analysis of management systems, workflows and requirements. Responsible for the understanding and documentation of these functional requirements in order to clearly identify user requirements and business processes. Change agent, to support user compliance and understanding of new processes.

 

The Role

  • Meet monthly with assigned Business Unit Leaders; act as a business partner to the assigned Business Units
  • Initiate and/or attend sessions in describing new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing business systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Continuously analyse current processes and user requirements, to develop solutions
  • Recommend modifications to Business Leaders that will improve effectiveness and increase the ability of operating systems.
  • Assist in project feasibility studies as required collecting and providing technical details and requirements, verifying system capabilities and analyzing required modifications.
  • Define the application and objectives of the system(s), defining user requirements against standard applications and identifying correct setup and/or modifications for the system in order to match business needs.
  • Complete the planning, designing, or modeling of procedures as required.
  • Develop workflows and detailed overviews related to the system(s).
  • Support IT staff as well as end-users and management with errors that occur. Investigate issues, determine causes and provide fixes, or effect fixes. Prepare and maintain tickets with ERP provider for issues beyond BSA’s ability to determine and/or fix.
  • Validate the financial results of all processes and maintain accounting rules.
  • Work collaboratively with other BSA’s and perform financial validation for changed/new processes developed by other BSA’s • 10% travel may be required.

The Candidate

  • Education: College Diploma or University Degree in accounting or equivalent experience. University Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Information Technology is an asset.
  • Work Experience: 2-3 years
  • Knowledge: Bilingual in both English and French (spoken and written); strong working knowledge of ERP Systems; strong Working knowledge of Infor M3. Six Sigma Green Belt an asset; ability to identify and integrate solutions into systems.
