Residential Claims & Estimate Advisor as known as Residential Virtual Appraisal (RVA) Advisor

Our National Catastrophe Claims team supports customers during some of their most challenging moments. Through innovative virtual claims solutions, we help customers recover more quickly by providing timely guidance, professional expertise, and seamless claim resolution.
About the Role
As a Residential Virtual Appraisal (RVA) Advisor, you will play a key role in helping customers navigate residential property claims following a loss. Using virtual technology, you will inspect damages, develop repair scopes, prepare estimates, and guide customers through the claims process.
Success in this role requires strong customer service skills, sound estimating knowledge, analytical thinking, and the ability to make informed claims decisions while providing a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience (Legendary Service)
Deliver a customer-first experience through empathy, active listening, and clear communication
Guide customers through the virtual appraisal process and explain claim outcomes, repair options, and next steps
Provide timely updates and support throughout the life of the claim
Virtual Inspection & Claim Management
Conduct virtual property inspections to assess damages and determine repair requirements
Prepare accurate repair scopes and estimates using industry-standard estimating platforms
Maintain detailed claim documentation and ensure timely claim resolution
Manage a high-volume caseload while balancing quality, productivity, and customer outcomes
Analytical Thinking & Decision Making
Gather and evaluate information from multiple sources to support claim decisions
Apply policy knowledge and coverage understanding to determine appropriate claim outcomes
Review estimates and supporting documentation to ensure fair and accurate settlements
Collaboration & Teamwork
Partner with contractors, vendors, adjusters, and internal stakeholders to support claim resolution
Contribute to team objectives and operational performance goals
Share knowledge and best practices to support team success
Growth & Continuous Improvement
Develop expertise in residential construction, estimating, and claims handling
Support process improvements and the ongoing evolution of virtual claims practices
Pursue professional development opportunities, including CIP designation and industry certifications
What You Bring
2+ years of residential property claims adjusting experience preferred
Strong understanding of residential construction and repair practices
Experience using Xactimate and related estimating platforms
Excellent customer service, communication, and negotiation skills
Demonstrated ability to investigate, analyze, and resolve complex claim situations
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Progress toward or completion of a CIP designation is considered an asset
HAAG certification or equivalent building damage training is considered an asset
Provincial claims licensing may be required
Bilingual (English/French) communication skills may be required depending on location
