Benefits Delivery Consultant

Job Description

  • What is the opportunity?
     

  • As one of two Benefit Analysts (Estates Desk), you and your Estates partner will work together as part of the larger Benefits team, to process claims for all employees, pensioners and dependents of RBC.  With your expertise, you are responsible for providing professional and accurate information on group insurance plans as they relate to death of active employees and pensioners in accordance with policies and procedures. You will also partner with other contacts across the HR Service Centre to ensure efficient claims administration.

    What will you do?

  • Administer death and accident claims for all RBC companies (Canadian and international), employees and pensioners, and their dependents.

  • Investigate and resolve complex death related issues.

  • Liaise with RBC Insurance, Sun Life and Manulife to ensure the efficient processing of claims and timely resolution of issues concerning discrepancies in employee/retiree benefit coverage

  • Respond to escalated incoming employee, pensioner, third party and group insurance requests (telephone, correspondence, e-mail).

  • Support other Benefit team projects as applicable.

    What do you need to succeed?

    Must Have
     

  • Well organized with the ability to prioritize work effectively and manage high volumes

  • Stellar oral and written communication skills

  • Strong computer skills specifically related to Excel and Word Merge documents

  • Strong decision making ability and ability to take the task to completion with minimal instruction.

  • The ability to communicate across all levels of the organization as well as employees’ families, estate representatives and lawyers.

    Nice to Have
     

  • Bilingual (French & English)

  • Business Knowledge Functional Expertise

  • RBC net & HR Self Serve Tools; SAP knowledge

  • Good knowledge of RBC Royal Bank benefit programs/ procedures and SAP as it relates to employee benefits (health, dental and life insurance, optional coverage).
