Job Description

In this role, you will serve as a trusted financial partner, offering expert wealth planning and customized investment strategies to a diverse client base. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing personalized financial plans, delivering sound investment advice, and assessing clients' insurance needs to recommend suitable products for their financial protection.

Emphasizing relationship management, you will engage with clients to understand their unique financial goals and craft tailored solutions, including comprehensive insurance strategies. By leveraging our virtual and digital channels, you will provide exceptional service, foster strong client relationships, and drive business growth through proactive engagement.

Major accountabilities include:

  • Proactively build and grow a book of clients through service-oriented sales strategies to achieve business development goals, including identifying and addressing insurance needs.

  • Cultivate long-term client relationships by gaining insight into their financial goals and providing tailored financial advice, incorporating comprehensive insurance solutions.

  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships through assets consolidation, addressing insurance needs and facilitating referrals.

  • Develop holistic financial plans that integrate investment and insurance strategies based on clients’ individual circumstances and goals.

  • Ensure accuracy and up-to-date information in client accounts and documentation.

  • Execute client trade accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Stay up to date with regulatory rules and changes in the investment and insurance industry.

  • Stay informed about market trends and economic developments that may impact client portfolios.

  • Lead team discussions on industry changes, internal changes and product knowledge

  • Follow up with clients on missing documentation required.

  • Maintain client files and information on the appropriate systems.

  • Document all client interactions and transactions accurately.

  • Respond promptly and effectively to client inquiries and requests.

  • Resolve issues and process client transactions expediently and accurately, escalating issues to the Director when necessary.

  • Understand required documentation for all client account types.

  • Ensure compliance of team policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with business partners and independent advisors to enhance client service and offerings.

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in investment advisory, wealth management, financial planning or similar role

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

  • Pleasant telephone manner and an ability to keep client conversations on track

  • Strong knowledge of financial products, investment strategies and market trends.

  • Working knowledge of investment and retirement planning to meet the needs of clients

  • Strong sales record

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently

  • Ability to meet deadlines and targets

  • Strong understanding of industry and firm compliance regulations

Education and Accreditations:

  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) completed

  • Conduct & Practices Handbook course (CPH) completed

  • Wealth Management Essentials course (WME) completed or enrolled

  • Life Licence Qualification Program course (LLQP) completed

  • Preference will be given to applicants that are already licensed with CIRO as Investment Representative (IR) or Registered Representative (RR).

  • Preference will be given to applicants with the following designation, CLU®, F.Pl., PFP®, QAFP® and/or CFP® designations

  • Must be highly proficient in English and French
