This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with the Hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.
Your Challenge
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Strategic Operations, you will lead and manage a large team, overseeing the planning, production, and evaluation of commercial traffic logs. This strategic role combines rigorous long-term planning with the excitement of real-time management.
As a unifying leader, you are the cornerstone of our operational efficiency. You ensure smooth day-to-day operations, foster a collaborative work environment, and guide teams through process improvements and change.
Your Day-to-Day within the Team:
You develop strategies that enable your teams to maintain excellent partnerships with the sales department and clients.
You establish and coordinate procedures to streamline scheduling, broadcasting, and the distribution of programming grids.
You monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend technological optimizations to maximize revenue and broadcast efficiency.
You anticipate operational challenges, mobilize support services, and facilitate the implementation of innovative solutions.
And if you love planning and thrive on the energy of live broadcasting, you are in the right place: you will manage emergencies calmly during last-minute programming changes and orchestrate the success of our biggest events (New Year’s Eve specials, major international sporting events, breaking news/special programming, etc.).
Profile Sought:
Management Skills:
Solid experience managing personnel in a unionized environment. Demonstrated ability to mobilize staff, clarify expectations, and maintain constructive and professional labor relations.
Ability to guide and support teams through operational process changes in a structured and objective manner.
Excellent stress and crisis management skills, agility to react quickly during special programming, and the capacity to strategically plan resources (vacation schedules, assignments) during peak periods within a fast-paced media environment.
Technical Skills:
University degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Excellent knowledge of the advertising and marketing industry within the broadcasting sector.
Extensive knowledge of practices, procedures, and systems related to scheduling, production, programming grids, sales, and communications.
Proficiency in traffic scheduling systems (e.g., On Air).
Deep understanding of distribution models, facility operations, and Sales and Marketing guidelines.
Strong knowledge of technical broadcasting systems and procedures.
Knowledge of CRTC regulations and their application to French Services and their affiliates.
Availability to work on-site or on-call (occasionally outside of regular business hours, including weekends).
Bilingualism (French and English) is essential.
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
As part of our recruitment process, candidates who advance to the next
step will be asked to complete a background check. This includes:
A mandatory Criminal record check.
Other background checks may be conducted based on the operational requirements of the position.
