This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Your Role

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, you will join an HR team supporting Radio-Canada leaders in Montreal — specifically across the News, Radio Production and General Television divisions.

In this role, you will work closely with the HR Director and HR Business Partners, delivering comprehensive administrative support across a broad range of human resources and labour relations matters.

You will ensure HR policies are applied consistently while tailoring solutions to specific case needs.

You will also track and co-ordinate initiatives in performance management, labour relations, organizational development, training, compensation and staffing.

The ideal candidate is fluently bilingual (English/French), thrives in a unionized matrix environment, and exercises exceptional judgment and discretion.

Your Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide proactive administrative support to the HR Business Partner team across a wide array of HR and labour relations matters.
  • Plan, organize, co-ordinate and monitor documentation, workflow tracking and operational tasks to ensure prompt, efficient processing of HR requests.
  • Foster proactive, collaborative union-management relations by building and maintaining productive professional relationships with union representatives at both local and national levels.

Grievance and dispute management:

  • Maintain standardized documentation for all grievance and dispute files across the department.
  • Co-ordinate closely with key stakeholders (Industrial Relations, management, Legal Services, unions, etc.) to ensure timely resolution and follow-through.

What You Bring

  • Practical experience in an HR/IR advisory or administrative role.
  • Proven ability to build positive working relationships with leaders through mutual understanding and constructive influence.
  • Demonstrated ability to meticulously track and manage complex HR cases.
  • Solid understanding of grievance and dispute resolution processes.
  • Working knowledge of the Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention Regulations under the Canada Labour Code.
  • Ability to partner effectively with business leaders and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment and strong decision-making skills to help resolve difficult client problems and departmental issues, with the ability to provide recommendations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage effectively with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter and independent worker.
  • Ability to adapt to business and priority changes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with HR and IR advisers and handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent command of French and functional English skills.

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration, law or a related field.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in an HR or IR role (e.g., Adviser, Co-ordinator, Specialist or equivalent).

Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.

We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

As part of our recruitment process, candidates who advance to the next

step will be asked to complete a background check. This includes:

  • A mandatory Criminal record check.

  • Other background checks may be conducted based on the operational requirements of the position.
