This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Your Role

Reporting to the Senior Director, Radio-Canada Television, you will lead and manage all operations involved in producing and launching original French-language content across ICI TÉLÉ, ICI ARTV and ICI EXPLORA.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with key departments across Radio-Canada, including ICI TOU.TV, Digital Products & Innovation, Communications (social media, public relations and promotion), Partnerships, Sales, Schedule & Broadcasting, Business & Rights, Administrative Services, Regional Media and Technical Production.

You will lead the Arts, Variety, Factual and Sports Programming team, supporting and mentoring content managers to drive their professional growth and development.

Your Responsibilities

Operations Management and Content Delivery

  • Production Coordination: Plan and oversee all original productions within the division. Manage project life cycles in partnership with internal teams and external producers, ensuring efficient resource allocation and meeting deadlines right up to final delivery across all platforms (ICI TÉLÉ, ICI ARTV, ICI EXPLORA and ICI TOU.TV).
  • Audience Engagement and Reach: Maximize content discoverability, drive engagement across all platforms and deepen Canadians’ connection to their public broadcaster.
  • Producer Relations: Provide day-to-day guidance to producers throughout the creative process — from pitch and development to final broadcast. Ensure projects align with the division’s strategic goals and Radio-Canada’s mandate.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between Radio-Canada’s core departments — including ICI TOU.TV, Digital Products & Innovation, Communications (social media, public relations and promotion), Partnerships, Sales, Schedule & Broadcasting, Business & Rights, Administrative Services, Regional Media and Technical Production — to ensure seamless communication and alignment.
  • Digital Transformation: Translate senior leadership’s strategic direction into concrete action plans, leveraging the strength of traditional television programming to drive growth across all digital platforms.
  • Major Event Management: Coordinate the execution of high-profile, international projects (e.g., the Olympics, Eurovision Song Contest) through tight, cross-functional collaboration.
  • Regulatory and Institutional Compliance: Ensure production decisions and processes strictly uphold Radio-Canada’s obligations to official language minority communities (OLMCs) and Indigenous partners.

Leadership and Talent Development

  • Team Management and Engagement: Lead, inspire and engage the Arts, Variety, Factual and Sports Programming team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Supervision and Mentorship: Supervise content managers, support them in their day-to-day roles, evaluate performance and implement tailored professional development plans to help them grow in their roles.
  • Human Resources Management: Manage human resources and labour relations in a unionized environment, ensuring full compliance with collective agreements and corporate policies.
  • Culture of Innovation: Encourage creative thinking and experimentation to continuously adapt our programming lineup to an evolving digital landscape.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a leadership and people management role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Deep understanding of the media industry, television production, the independent production ecosystem and current market trends.
  • Experience working within a unionized environment.
  • Collaborative leadership style with proven problem-solving abilities and exceptional communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for building relationships with staff, colleagues and industry partners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in an ever-changing environment.
  • Expertise in television programming to meet the demand for French-language content across Canada.
  • Exceptional ability to influence, innovate and think creatively.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Discretion and integrity.
  • Native-level fluency in spoken and written French.
  • Professional proficiency in English (bilingual).

Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.

We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

As part of our recruitment process, candidates who advance to the next
