Senior Advisor, Owned Programs

What you'll do:


The Senior Advisor, Owned Programs will play a key role in Jumpstart’s commitment to strengthening community sport across Canada, and in ensuring all kids have an opportunity to realize the benefits of participating in sport and play.

Reporting to the Manager, Program Design & Partnerships, the Senior Advisor, Owned Programs will support the development and delivery of Jumpstart's strategic programs, projects, and initiatives designed to meet the emerging needs of equity-serving grassroots sport and recreation organizations and the children and youth they serve.

  • Deliver Jumpstart programs, where applicable, with specific focus on increasing access and supporting skill development which includes managing associated tasks and activities to ensure efficiency and frictionless engagement in the pursuit of achieving desired outcomes & impact.

  • Provide subject matter expertise to the charity to further advance its strategic objectives of advancing access and skill development for children and youth in need, with specific focus on owned programs, program innovation & incubation.

  • Work with colleagues and key stakeholders in the sharing of insights, expertise and data to help inform owned program innovation, delivery and decision-making processes to drive deeper impact and meet community need.

  • Support the identification, stewardship and evaluation of existing and potential partners and enablers that can further advance owned program outcomes and innovation, with a focus on improving access and supporting skill development for underrepresented children and youth.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring: 

  • University and/or College education in a related discipline

  • Project management

  • Experience with Grant Application Systems

  • 3 to 5 years experience in either a charity, data analysis, sport sector role

  • Excellent communication skills to various levels of internal and external stakeholders 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to pro-actively identify and build value added recommendations

  • Proven track record of delivering precise reports and analysis

  • Strong cross-functional relationship building ability

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Strong MS Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills

  • Results oriented, flexible and willing to work in a multi-task and dynamic work environment

  • High degree of customer service and focus

  • Passionate about increasing opportunities for children and youth to participate in sport and recreation

  • Experience in a similar capacity within the not-for-profit sector is an asset

  • Bilingual (French) an asset
