What does a Facilities Planner do in aerospace?

A Facilities Planner plays a key role in keeping operations safe, efficient, and reliable. By analyzing maintenance data, they identify trends and prevent failures before they happen. They design smart preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, ensuring assets perform at their best and meet strict aerospace standards.They also assess risk and prioritize critical interventions to protect safety and production, while collaborating closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams. Through continuous improvement and performance tracking (MTBF, MTTR, availability), they help drive operational excellence.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Analyze maintenance data: Identify trends and root causes of failures to propose sustainable solutions.
• Define and implement maintenance plans: Develop preventive and predictive programs based on manufacturer recommendations and best practices.
• Manage risk and criticality: Assess the impact of failures on safety, production, and costs, and prioritize interventions accordingly.
• Coordinate across departments: Work closely with production, engineering, and procurement teams to integrate reliability into design and planning.
• Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and maintenance system performance.
• Provide training and awareness: Support teams in adopting preventive and predictive maintenance tools and techniques.
• Monitor performance indicators (KPIs): MTBF, MTTR, availability rate, etc.

How to thrive in this role?

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field combined with a minimum of five years of experience in an industrial environment.
• Bilingual proficiency (French/English), both spoken and written.
• Strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal communication, project management abilities, and a strong customer service mindset.
• Knowledge of safety standards and industrial regulations.
• Ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts effectively.
• Experience with various modules of a CMMS system (Maximo preferred).
• A strong sense of customer service.
