What does a Surface Treatment Operator do?

Working in the manufacturing sector, you will be responsible for preparing and treating metal parts by performing cleaning, degreasing, deoxidation, plating, and electrochemical or chemical treatments. You will be responsible for setting up and monitoring equipment, controlling the quality of applied treatments, and performing basic preventative maintenance. The position also includes using production tracking software and completing quality and traceability documentation.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Prepares parts for treatment, masks them, positions them, or secures them to tooling;
• Adjusts or controls equipment, baths, or treatment products;
• Operates and controls equipment for cleaning, degreasing, and deoxidizing parts and metal surfaces to achieve the desired surface characteristics;
• Monitors equipment that processes objects through various cleaning, rinsing, and plating solutions;
• Performs and monitors part treatment;
• Performs electrochemical, chemical, or shot blasting treatments;
• Operates ovens for curing and drying surface coatings;
• Verifies the condition and thickness of surface treatments using instruments;
• Implements corrective or first-level preventive measures;
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment;
• Uses software to manage the workflow and record results;
• Completes the Quality Control and Traceability documents

• You have a high school diploma (or equivalent) or relevant experience demonstrating manual dexterity.
• You are able to work meticulously and precisely.
• You are flexible and available to work various shifts (day, evening, night).
• You are able to work safely in accordance with the company's values ​​and demonstrate exemplary practices in this regard.
• You speak and write in French.
