Artificial intelligence is transforming how organizations build, deliver, and scale digital capabilities. At the Bank of Canada, our Data & Digital Services department is advancing the responsible adoption of AI to empower developers, streamline workflows, and strengthen the Bank’s digital foundation.
Working with technologies such as Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, GitHub, AI agents and modern cloud platforms, you will play a leading role in building secure, scalable, and responsible AI capabilities for one of Canada’s most respected institutions.
What you need to know
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Platform Specialist (Senior Developer) who is passionate about building the next generation of AI-powered developer experiences. In this role, you will lead the development, configuration, and implementation of advanced Code Assistant solutions, integrated advanced capabilities across GitHub, Copilot technologies and AI agents, and enable teams to work more efficiently through automation and modern AI platforms.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping how AI augments software development and digital delivery at the Bank, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to build secure, scalable, and enterprise-ready AI solutions that enhance productivity, automate complex workflows and accelerate innovation across the organization while maintaining the Bank’s strong standards for governance, reliability, and operational excellence.

Education and Experience
This position requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field, along with 6 or more years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, or related technical roles, including at least 2 years including experience designing, implementing, or leading modern AI-enabled developer productivity solutions such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, AI agents, or similar technologies.

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve their second language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.

The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
