Product Owner - Crew Day of Flight

Working under the direction of the Senior Manager, Digital Product, the Product Owner supports crew Day of Flight (DOF) digital products. This role is responsible for maximizing business value through the delivery of digital capabilities that support operational control, crew management, flight execution, disruption management and real-time operational decision-making.

The Product Owner acts as the bridge between business stakeholders, operational teams, technology partners, and delivery teams, ensuring product enhancements are aligned to operational priorities, safety requirements, customer experience goals, and strategic modernization initiatives. The role requires strong Agile delivery experience, stakeholder management, and the ability to translate complex operational requirements into actionable product outcomes

Responsibilities:

Product Vision & Strategy

  • Help define and evolve the product roadmap for Day of Flight digital capabilities.
  • Translate operational challenges into product initiatives that improve efficiency, reliability, and employee experience.
  • Contribute to long-term modernization programs supporting Jeppesen Crew Tracking, Crew Mobility, operational reporting, and flight operations platforms.

Backlog Ownership & Prioritization

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, operational impact, risk reduction, and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and manage user stories, features, acceptance criteria, and release priorities.
  • Ensure backlog items are clearly defined and ready for development and testing.

Requirements & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead requirements gathering workshops with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Facilitate alignment sessions to clarify scope, assumptions, business rules, and integration requirements.
  • Act as the primary voice of the customer and operational stakeholders within Agile delivery teams.
  • Drive consensus across multiple stakeholder groups while maintaining focus on value delivery.

Agile Delivery & Sprint Execution

  • Partner closely with Scrum Masters, developers, architects, QA teams, and business SMEs.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Provide ongoing clarification to delivery teams regarding business requirements and operational workflows.
  • Ensure features delivered align with expected operational outcomes and business objectives. Support production releases, cutover planning, rollback readiness, and operational go-live activities.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), business validation, and stakeholder sign-off activities.
  • Collaborate with Change Management and operational teams to ensure smooth implementation of new capabilities.
  • Monitor post-release performance and drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Support end-to-end operational workflows spanning multiple platforms and teams. 

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting airline operations, Crew Operations, Flight Operations, Operations Control Centre, scheduling, or mobility products and asset
  • 3+ years of proven Product Owner experience in Agile environments.
  • Experience managing operational or mission-critical digital products.
  • Familiarity with airline operational systems, crew management platforms, operational reporting, or integration-heavy ecosystems.
  • Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, and Agile delivery practices.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of data-driven decision-making and operational workflows.
