The Manager, Employee Experience Design leads the design of key employee experience journeys and “moments that matter” at Air Canada. Taking a human-centred design approach and working collaboratively with various partners across Global HR and the broader organization, intentionally crafts employee experiences that embody Air Canada’s values and employee value proposition at all touchpoints to drive engagement, commitment, and pride.  

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the design of key employee experience journeys (e.g. onboarding experience), in close collaboration with SMEs and partners across GHR and the business.
  • Navigates complexity and ambiguity to define clear project goals, milestones, and timelines.
  • Assesses current state experiences and maps current processes to understand the full scope of each project and surfaces meaningful areas of opportunity to more intentionally shape the experience at key touchpoints.
  • Analyzes data and employee feedback from Air Canada’s employee listening channels to design truly human-centric experiences, rooted in empathy.
  • Clearly defines what embodying Air Canada’s employee value proposition looks like at each phase of the journey, and maps the ideal journey at all touchpoints, both human and technology-led.
  • Proposes technology enhancements and process changes to best deliver each employee experience journey.
  • Develops and executes stakeholder engagement / change management / communication plans to ensure the successful design, implementation, and sustainment of each employee experience journey. 
  • Develops presentations and content to support the design process and delivery of key moments in each employee experience journey.
  • Develops approaches to measure effectiveness in delivering key outcomes for each employee experience journey
  • Builds positive, collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams to deliver results.

Qualifications

  • 5 + years of experience in HR program development, change management, human capital consulting and/or employee experience design

  • Proven experience leading complex employee experience projects in large, multi-stakeholder environments. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of design thinking and experience applying human-centred design principles to HR processes and programs.

  • Strong understanding of talent acquisition, employee onboarding, and other employee experience “moments that matter” to craft high-impact solutions and programs

  • Proven ability to balance big picture thinking with tactical execution.

  • Experienced at building positive, collaborative relationships at all levels of an organization and to work cross-functionally to deliver results. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and rally others towards a common goal. 

  • Excellent project management skills to set priorities, plan tactics, and successfully facilitate the delivery of campaigns and initiatives. 

  • Strong written and visual communication skills to create clear and compelling presentations and content for a variety of audiences.
