This Position reports to:Canada Region Leader


 

As part of the Canadian Installation Products executive leadership team, you will be a key contributor to the division's expansion and strategic direction. We aim to double our engineering capabilities and expand our product offering within the next 3-5 years. You will lead a team of 20-30 engineers and technicians, driving efficiency, process improvement, and results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management: Lead and manage the engineering team, setting direction, structure, and budget. Develop a culture that challenges the status quo in technical issues, projects, and processes.
  • Product Portfolio and Innovation Roadmap: Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Sales to generate new product ideas. Define and execute the new product development roadmap. Manage project portfolios and ensure timely execution and financial objectives.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Local Business Line management, Product Management, Supply, Production, and Sales. Provide technical support and feedback on local market requirements and innovation.
  • People Leadership and Development: Foster a culture of innovation and develop team capabilities. Ensure the team is properly organized, staffed, and skilled. Guide, motivate, and develop employees with HR support.
  • Network and Visibility: Ensure information flow within the organization and promote ABB R&D internally and externally. Build strong relationships with internal and external contacts, including universities and technical committees.
  • Intellectual Property and Risk Management: Manage risks and support the protection of intellectual property. Monitor and alert higher management of IP issues.
  • Finance and Budget: Prepare annual and multi-year budgets in cooperation with local and global management.
