As Senior Quantitative Analyst, you will apply your knowledge and experience of data modelling to solve challenging business problems and bring innovative solutions. This role is focused on the development and interpretation of practical Fixed Income quantitative strategies to be used as part of our Multi-Asset and Currency investment processes.The Multi-Asset and Currency Investment group is a Montreal based team with assets north of $40B. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving models that predict relative or absolute returns in country, currencies, equities, global fixed income, and alternative asset classes including commodities and volatility.

How you’ll succeed
- Quantitative Research. You will apply new and well established techniques to the problem of creating portfolios which add value for clients whilst controlling risk. You will draw on academic sources, industry research and insights from team members for new ideas to test. Research may include finding signals that help predict asset returns, applying new algorithms to our established factors, testing new portfolio construction algorithms and assessing the risk environment
- Communication. You will have good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Able to explain concisely highly technical information to audiences with varying technical expertise. You will have the ability to constructively challenge model methodologies, assumptions and validation approach.
- Programming. You will write and run programs in Python. You will create functions, classes, modules or similar tools that other members of the quantitative research team can use. You will contribute to the on-going development of our back-testing, portfolio construction and risk architecture.
- Problem solving and Critical thinking. You will be able to accurately identify a problem’s source, severity, and impact to determine possible solutions and required resources.
Who you are
- You can demonstrate advanced knowledge and deep understanding of asset class, factor and portfolio modeling obtained through 10+ years of practical experience in FI research, PM Quant support or as Quant PM.
- You have extensive hands-on experience in Python and a proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools. Â

- You have a post-graduate degree or diploma with significant math or stats emphasis and advanced knowledge of financial markets. Â
