The Bilingual Collections Specialist reports to the Collections Manager. He or she is responsible for minimizing monthly delinquency. This includes regular delinquent account follow-up and taking the lead on managing and resolving issues that are causing delinquency. This may include negotiating payment arrangements with customers and working with internal teams to resolve administrative issues that have caused delinquency
Responsibilities
Contact customers that have delinquent accounts;
Analyze payment problems and work with customers to identify and implement solutions within company policies;
Coordinate with various departments including legal, credit, accounts receivable;
Monitor both inbound collection calls, and shared collection email box;
Meet specific targets related to individual collection worklists;
Determine when accounts require escalated review based on payment patterns;
Maintain accurate customer files.
Qualifications
Understanding of collections legal requirements and best practices;
Proven track record of meeting collections targets while maintaining customer focus;
BA is preferred combined with 2+ years of commercial collections experience;
Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook experience;
Ability to make decisions within established guidelines;
Organized, efficient, knowledgeable, accurate and professional;
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively;
Problem analysis and problem-solving ability.
Bilingual* (French/English) is required;
