The Financial Analyst role plays a critical role in financial management and reporting. We are looking for a dynamic and responsible self-starter, who is detail-oriented and can work collaboratively with others. The candidate will be responsible for financial support of the product teams and will oversee the full financial cycle from planning, forecasting to results, and will prepare and review management reports specific to SG&A.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full financial cycle from planning, forecasting to results – Responsible for month-end closure activities
- Complete variance analysis against targets and forecast as well as identifying related risk and opportunities
- Prepare financial management reports for Senior Management and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial results.
- Provide adhoc analysis to influence business decisions.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate reporting of SG&A
- Recommend and implement process improvements.
Critical Qualifications
- 3-5 years of financial/accounting experience
- Strong data manipulation and data mining skills, with an acute attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of Excel
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues
- Strong leadership and communication/presentation skills
- Strong organizational abilities and comfortable working with ambiguity
- Autonomous and disciplined self-starter who can work in a demanding and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work overtime as required by the business
Preferred Qualifications
- Accounting designation or working towards
- Knowledge of SAP and BPC
- Good understanding of the broadcasting/media industry
- Bilingual (French and English);Â In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
